Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction during the use of generic Lexapro (Escitalopram, Cipralex, Seroplex): skin rash or hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.

  • Digestive system:
    • common - nausea, decreased appetite, diarrhea, constipation;
    • rarely - a violation of tastes;
    • possible - vomiting, dry mouth, changes in laboratory parameters of liver function.
  • From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system:
    • most often - insomnia or drowsiness, dizziness, weakness;
    • possible - sight disorders, seizures, tremor, movement disorders, serotonin syndrome, hallucinations, mania, confusion, agitation, anxiety, depersonalization, panic attacks, irritability.
    • Metabolism:
      • common - excessive sweating, hyperthermia;
